Member businesses are invited to take advantage of this monthly mailing by supplying the Chamber with their 8.5 x 11 inch flyers by the last week of the month previous to when you wish to mail the flyer. The Annual Golf Classic is a Chamber fund raising event, held in the summer at a golf course in the Greater Susquehanna Valley. More than 80 golfers participate in this relaxing, fun-filled event to show their support for Chamber programs and initiatives. Proceeds from the Golf Classic will be used to support the Young Americans Program, an initiative that recognizes and promotes future leaders within our local school districts. Lunch, goodie bags, contests and a dinner are included in this special event.
Annual Meeting and Awards Ceremony
The Chamber’s annual gala at the beginning of the year recognizes outgoing and incoming Chamber officers and directors, celebrates the work of committee chairs and volunteers, and honors the Chamber’s Business of the Year, Small Business of the Year, and Karen L. Hackman Star of Excellence award recipients. ATHENA® Program
In 1981, a vision for celebrating, articulating, and influencing leadership was formulated in Lansing, Michigan. The concept focused on establishing an award to recognize outstanding women leaders who achieved professional excellence, gave back to their community, and created leadership opportunities for other women. Local communities across the United States and beyond our borders embraced the ATHENA® Award, named in recognition of the Greek goddess of wisdom and courage. Today, the ATHENA® Foundation is an established international organization that has recognized thousands of women and men for helping women reach their full leadership potential.
Breakfast Networking
Designed for even the most hesitant “networker,” The Breakfast Club will increase your contacts in a structured networking format. Groups consisting of 12-15 non-competitive businesses will meet on a regular basis for a brief breakfast and the opportunity to walk away with qualified business leads.

Economic Forecast Luncheon
This premier Chamber event attracts more than 200 members and guests to hear a prominent economist discuss regional and national economic trends that will likely impact local business in the coming year.
Joint Legislative Forums
An opportunity for Chamber members to meet with Federal, State, and County elected officials to learn about issues affecting the community and specifically the business climate. These events draw area business leaders as well as local municipal officials. The Greater Susquehanna Valley Chamber of Commerce holds these meetings jointly with the Central PA Chamber of Commerce.
Monthly Meetings
The Chamber holds a monthly membership luncheon meeting at a member’s establishment. Several of the meetings have a regional focus and others serve as information forums for Chamber members.
Office Staff Recognition Luncheon
Held annually in April on National Administrative Professionals Day, this fun-filled celebration recognizes those in the workplace that help “keep business moving” in the Valley. The event features a light-hearted speaker and/or program, with numerous door-prizes and gifts donated by local business supporters. More than 175 Chamber members attend to show their support and recognition for key office and workplace staff.
Small Business Focus Seminars
Small Business Focus Seminars are monthly breakfast seminars designed to address the specific needs of small to mid-size businesses. The sponsor is given the opportunity to present specific topics of interest to a targeted audience. Topics must be approved by the Membership Committee prior to each event.
Susquehanna Valley Rally – Tour the Valley by Bike
Cyclists of all ages and skill levels participate in this annual autumn bicycling event.
Pre-planned 15- , 30- , and 60-mile routes take you one of the following: Snyder, Montour, Northumberland, and Union counties. This event is held in conjunction with the following Chamber affiliates: Danville Business Alliance, Lewisburg Downtown Partnership, Mifflinburg Heritage and Revitalization, Selinsgrove Chamber of Commerce, and Sunbury Revitalization Inc.
Visions & Connections Leadership Symposium
Visions and Connections is a women’s leadership symposium, inviting women to join their peers from the Valley to spend a day with highly experienced professionals. The conference gives attendees dozens of new ideas and action plans to boost their career, their attitude and their life. It’s especially designed to give powerful information and profound insights that will make a lasting, positive impact on attendees’ lives. This conference is about getting it “right”, and is what this unique, day-long event is all about.

The Chamber works with local government officials throughout the region to make doing business in the Greater Susquehanna Valley the best it can be.
State and Federal Government
The Chamber studies state and federal issues, takes positions that encourage economic well-being in the Valley, and effectively communicates the voice of the business owner to appropriate elected officials and government offices.
